About Anne

I'm Anne Easton, founder of Blakemore Law (my middle name is Blakemore) and host of the My Lawyer Friend Podcast. I represent filmmakers, production companies, talent, and entrepreneurs navigating the intersection of entertainment, business, and the law.

My practice focuses on entertainment law—from script development through distribution—and corporate representation for emerging companies from formation through Series E funding. I work with clients creating content for Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, and Apple TV+, handling everything from rights acquisitions and financing to talent agreements and productions.

Before launching Blakemore Law in 2025, I spent over five years at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, where I represented major studios, networks, and individual creators. I was seconded to Amazon Studios as in-house corporate counsel and to TelevisaUnivision in Miami for their linear TV production, radio, news, and podcast divisions. Prior to that, I managed business and legal affairs at Entertainment One following their $209 million acquisition of The Mark Gordon Company, where I consolidated operations across three production entities.

Through the My Lawyer Friend Podcast, I make legal concepts accessible to a broader audience—breaking down entertainment and corporate law in a way that's actually useful for creators, entrepreneurs, and anyone trying to understand how the law affects their work and life.

I'm a California native, USC grad (Philosophy, Politics & Law), and received my J.D. from New York Law School. I'm admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

When I'm not working, you'll find me cooking, painting, reading and writing non-fiction, playing piano, practicing yoga, or traveling to new cities.

Pro bono work matters to me. I successfully represented a female Afghan refugee in her asylum application following the Taliban takeover.
